Movin’ Right Along
Footloose and fancy free. TypePad free, at any rate. I recently secured my own domain and migrated everything I’ve written here to a better, more reliable, and customer-focused hosting company. Every time I found a flaw in TypePad’s blogging platform or hosting services and suggested a feature, I would get the same response. I have it memorized: “Thanks for the suggestion. We are always looking for ways to enhance TypePad for our users, so we will keep this in mind as a possible future feature for the system.”
Turns out that all the enhancements I could ever need were either already implemented for Movable Type or offered through more seasoned hosting companies like LivingDot. So, I have voted with my wallet and moved Empyreal Environs to:
Movable Type is the engine for TypePad, so I was able to transfer the entire design and contents with very few visual changes. The migration did take a couple of days because I’ve been having fun tweaking the code. I found concentrating on detail-oriented tasks took away most of my anxiety over the Patriots/Broncos playoff game. Most; not all.
